Founder

Ursula Gordon Higginbotham 

Evangelist Ursula Gordon-Higginbotham, MEd, hails from Baton Rouge, Louisiana. As the granddaughter of the late Bishop Willie K. Gordon, Sr., and the fourth child of the late Bishop Charles H. Gordon and Missionary Wardine Mabry Gordon, she was rooted in faith from an early age. Evangelist Higginbotham accepted salvation and received the baptism of the Holy Ghost under her father’s leadership, actively serving in various ministry roles. She is a licensed Evangelist Missionary within the Church of God in Christ (COGIC) and remains steadfast in her dedication to serving God's people.

She is a devoted member of The Island of Hope Church of God in Christ, where she fulfills multiple roles, including Administrative Assistant to the Pastor, Church Administrator, Worship Coordinator, Appropriations Board Chairman, and Trustee Board Member. On the Jurisdictional level, she serves as Senior Executive Assistant to General Board Member Bishop Prince E.W. Bryant, Sr., the Jurisdictional Prelate of Texas South Central Jurisdiction.

In 2014, Evangelist Higginbotham was appointed International Director of Local Church Administrative Staff Development for the Church of God in Christ, Inc. by Presiding Bishop Charles E. Blake, Sr. She was reappointed in 2021 by Bishop J. Drew Sheard. In this role, she oversees the training and development of church administrative staff across over 12,000 churches worldwide.

With a career spanning over 29 years in education, Evangelist Higginbotham has contributed 25 years to the public school system, serving as a special education teacher, general education teacher, and interventionist. She is currently the Principal of Helen Major Elementary School and a Professor of Psychology at Houston Community College.

Above all, Evangelist Higginbotham treasures her family. She is the proud mother of three children: Attorney A’drianna Marche’ Agbaraqwe’, James Pierre’, and Charleston D’wight Higginbotham (Ashley). She also cherishes her four granddaughters: Adaora Deanie, Zionne’ Grace, Amara Dea, and Reign Joy.
